Artist statement
Making the hidden world of waves felt.
As a student, Victor took a laboratory course on the science of sound waves and fell in love with a world that is both ubiquitous and hidden.
We are always surrounded by waves and vibrations, yet rarely aware of them. Learning to notice them added a new dimension to Victor's perception of sound and music—and another layer of enjoyment to everyday life.
The goal of his work is to transmit that love and enjoyment to others. He uses the science of waves to create awe-inspiring sound experiences that integrate the public as playful explorers.
The experiences take many forms: sound sculptures, web applications, and workshops where participants investigate vibration, rare sonic objects, and unusual musical instruments from around the world.
